In response to the important instructions of “supporting the integrated development of Yangtze River Delta and upgrading it into a national strategy” put forward by President Xi Jinping in the keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the first China International Import Expo, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui publicity departments jointly support the Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo (referred to as YRDICIE). In May 2019, the Political Bureau of China’s central government reviewed and approved the Outline of the Yangtze River Delta Regional Integration Development Plan, giving the Yangtze River Delta a new strategic positioning as "1 Pole, 3 Regions, and 1 Highland", and clearly stated that the YRDICIE should be well organized as a major national-level measure to promote higher-quality integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta.
