On May 11, 2018, launch conference of 2018 Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo was held in Shenzhen. Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shanghai provinces (municipality) reached a consensus on hosting Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo (hereinafter refer to as 'YRDICIE') starting from 2018. The first YRDICIE is to be held in Shanghai Exhibition Center from November 29 to December 2, of which the total exhibition area is to be nearly 20,000 square meters.

Wang Yayuan, Vice Minister of Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee said, YRDICIE is the expectation shared by Yangtze River Delta cultural industries, which aims to serve national cultural development, the integrative development of Yangtze River Delta, and 'three strategies' of developing a world-class urban agglomeration.

Under the witness of all guests, the logo of YRDICIE was also released.

The conference was hosted by Liu Haiying, Director of Development and Reform Commission of Publicity Department of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee.

Xu Runhe, Chief Director of CPIT Exhibition Co., Ltd. said, the 5-month group efforts shared by all parties has laid the fundamental root for the success of YRDICIE. YRDICIE is expected to be a cultural component of the Yangtze River Delta region and to face the whole nation and the world by highlighting the feature of 'global vision, region interconnection, uban positioning, market operation, trade priority and exhibition renewing'.

Hua Jian, Director of Research Center of Cultural Industries in Shanghai Academy of Social Science, on behalf of the expert group in the organizing committee, introduced the highlights of YRDICIE, 'YRDICIE will be the stage that displays Yangtze River Delta cultural industries together for the first time. It intends to drive forward innovation, and to incubate the driving force for Yangtze River Delta cultural industries. Furthermore, it is expected to stimulate the opening-up of the region and to become the portal of global cultural resources'.

YRDICIE is hosted by Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shanghai Provincial (Municipal) Departments of Publicity, co-hosted by Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai, and organized by CPIT Shanghai Exhibition Co., Ltd.

One of 2018 YRDICIE's highlights is the integrated development of Yangtze River Delta cultural industries, and it will be interpreted through the forms of exhibition, forums and other events.

YRDICIE plays a significant role in thoroughly applying the documents of the 19th National Congress of CPC and implementing Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration Development Planning issued by the State Council. The expo also helps develop the Yangtze River Delta region into a leading demonstration, an Asia Pacific gateway for global resource allocation and a world-class urban agglomeration with global competitiveness.
