The "Bridge of Sino-Thai Culture and Economy & Trade —— Promotion Conference of the 2019 Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo (hereinafter referred as 2019 YRDICIE)" was successfully held at Grand Mercure Bangkok Fortune Hotel in Bangkok on the afternoon of July 18, 2019. Distinguished guests and professionals from the YRDICIE , Thai Ministry of Culture, Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Trade Board of Thailand, the Television Production Committee of China Alliance of Radio, Film and Television, Shanghai Broadcasting Film & Television Producers Association, Thai Chamber of Commerce in China, the Film Board of Thailand, and the Intellectual Property Promotion Association of Thailand gathered together to discuss cooperation in cultural and creative industries between both sides.

During the conference, Dr. Phaichit Viboontanasam, vice chairman and secretary-general of Thai Chamber of Commerce in China (“TCCC”), delivered an opening speech, expressing his confidence in the market potential of the cultural and creative industries in Yangtze River Delta and encouraged Thai companies to seize this opportunity. Phairash Burapachaisri, vice chairman of Thai Board of Trade, on behalf of Thai industry and business leaders addressed that he was optimistic about Sino-Thailand cooperation in cultural and creative industries. Mr. Yu Zhiqing, vice chairman and secretary-general of Shanghai Municipal Association of Radio, Film and Television Production introduced cooperation opportunities in Sino-Thailand film and television industry. Professor Hua Jian from the Cultural Industry Research Center of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences introduced the cooperation prospects of Sino-Thai cultural industries. Representatives of YRDICIE organizer detailed the related preparatory information of 2019 YRDICIE.

The promotion conference has engaged more than 100 companies and individuals from the cultural and creative industries of Thailand. The inspiring topics and diverse activities during the conference were well-received and well-recognized by participants.

YRDICIE and TCCC signed a strategic cooperation agreement during the conference, in which TCCC will actively promote Thai cultural and creative companies to participate in the YRDICIE where a Thai cultural and creative pavilion will be built to fully display Thai’s culture and creativity and jointly promote the cooperation between the Yangtze River Delta and Thai cultural industries to expand the broad market of cultural and creative industries. On site T&B Media Global of Thailand signed an agreement to participate in the 2019 YRDICIE, thus, T&B would get access to negotiate with investors, cooperators, matching suppliers, agents and suppliers of cultural industries in the Yangtze River Delta through the platform of the YRDICIE so as to gain a deeper understanding of the Chinese cultural market and achieve win-win cooperation as well as promote the optimization and upgrading of cultural industry in the two countries.

The successful holding of this promotion conference has laid a solid foundation for the future cooperation in cultural industries between Thailand and China as well as Thailand and the Yangtze River Delta. Meanwhile, it has also made YRDICIE a well-known brand in the overseas market, which will further promote the in-depth development of works like exhibitors organizing and so on.
